happy 21st Brother

My "little" brother 21 this past week. He rang it in with many gifts of beer. Lots and lots of beer. He also made me feel old. My 21st feels like ages ago (note it was only about six years ago only but still...) His girlfriend made the comment "I can't believe this is the year we turn 21!" when we went out for happy hour (she, of course, had to get a virgin daiquiri- her 21st will be in November). On top of the fact that, how old am I that I am hanging out with people who don't recognize "Seven" by Prince. Rachael (the girlfriend) had never even heard it before! How is that possible? Are they that young? Or am I that old?

Now this isn't a pick on Brent and Rachael post, I love them both, especially since they were successfully able to get my mother drunk while hanging out last night. I also got my first drunk dial from Rachael (oops, did I mention someone 5 months short of 21 had a drink? oops.) My mother, in her typical fashion, claimed she has a "high tolerance" and felt nothing (meaning, as Brent's roommate well put it, she was so drunk she didn't know she was drunk. That's my mom for you.)

Anyway, Happy Birthday, Brother. Hope it was memorable.

Oh, and I hope everyone enjoyed reading about my CRAZY andm as Jillian well put it, SCARY family.

tee cee pee bee

So twice now I have gotten cards to renew a subscription to Playboy for the man who formerly owned my house. The subscription is address to Tee Cee (the former owner's name had the initials "T.C.") It made me wonder, I wonder how many adult material publications have people who don't want their name on the publication and instead use their initials as their name. I guess I'll about every six months getting mail to Tee Cee to offer me some adult entertainment. I'll pass. Thanks.

My sister finally made up her mind. She's moving back to Minnesota. Which means, I have to do my first major home project- finishing off the basement so she can have her own bedroom. I'm so tickled to have her moving in. It will be great for both of us. Hopefully I can kick some of my "i'm used to living by myself" habits but fi I have to do the roommate thing again at least it is with a family member.

NKOTB Here I Come

Krista ordered tickets this morning as soon as they went on sale for us to relive our childhoods-- via a New Kids on the Block Concert on Oct. 21. We are so excited. NKOTB was the first concert I ever went to... I can't wait to relive the excitement... Step by steph, ooh baby... (yes, I'm a HUGE dork, but so are thousands of other late-twenty early-thirty-something women!)
