My Celebrity Boyfriend
This is from Jenni... We both love The Doctor. I just found it when I was looking for the birthday cake image. She originally made one for Stephanie, but I was jealous so I had her make me one, too. I'm kind-of her boss (but I use the term loosely) so I can make her do these things. :) But I love her because she introduced me to The Doctor and changed my life.
not too little... not too late
We Heart PMB
One of my favorite co-workers celebrated her one year anniversary last week. So we decorated her cube in pink streamers. I also gave her a little plaque that says "I'm only working here until a good job in fast food opens up."
A week later, the pink streamers are still up. We heart her even more for that. Happy one year anniversary, Mary.

Didn't I Blow Your Mind This Time?

Last night a roomful of twenty and thirty-something women were given an opportunity to return to our childhoods-- and return we did. We screamed at the same pitch that I thought was only possible among pre-pubescent girls. We jumped up and down. We danced. We had The Right Stuff.
When New Kids in the Block were in their glory, I was one of the millions of little girls who was a dedicated fan. The first question among women, even today among their return to fame, is "who is your favorite new kid?" Mine is Jordan. Although, Joey has grown up to be quite hot, but Krista claims him so I'll stick to Jordan.
When I read the reviews this morning, it said 95% of the people at the concert were women. There were just a few men who got stuck with their wives or girlfriends and came along in hopes of... well, in hopes of things that men hope for. After the concert, I'd guess 95% of the men there got what they hoped for.
As far as I'm concerned, they were as good today as they were when I saw them as a nine-year-old girl-- my first ever rock concert. Last night I screamed as loud as I did as a nine-year-old, in fact, I don't think I've screamed like that since and I probably won't again (that is unless I hit up another NKOTB concert.) It was absolutely, totally and completely satisfying. I remember now why I loved this band (cheezy music and all.) They were good. They could work a crowd. They were the New Kids.
Props to a bunch of thirty-something men who were extremely popular as teenage boys and who can work a crowd of the same women who are 15 years more mature and loved them in their glory days. Props to the women, who could enjoy a boy band where we're all a bit more mature- wine, beer, husbands, babies and all. Props to a couple hours where we could all be kids again and remember what it's like to have a first crush.
Oh, and if I had a husband, last night, I would have left him for Jordan. I'm just saying.

Double Dip?
Yesterday night I was driving home with my sister. I told her when we got home, I planned to clean. (By Laura standards, my house was a disaster zone- total pit.) She said she needed to do laundry because she was out of clean underwear and went onto say how she has to do laundry always based upon running out of clean underwear. So, I asked her, jokingly of course, "Don't you wear them twice?" She then proceeded to act completely disgusted and then went on to say she doesn't "double dip" her underwear... I think she MUCH FURTHER crossed the gross line than I did-- she blamed it on a cartoon where the example was a kid going into a hamper for a pair of dirty socks. I think I'll stick with double dipping my jeans, rather than socks or underwear.

How did I ever live without?
Fall television is back. This is my first season of all TV being the owner of a DVR. I love it. How did I live without it? I went through and started setting my programs to record. I couldn't believe how long the list was and I haven't even added new programing for this season. I think my television addiction will only get that much more... It makes me think of all the other things I now can't live without. What things are on your list?
mine now include:
my cell phone (is this NOT on anyone's list?)
facebook (seriously. seriously.)
a couple of cuddly cats that i just love to death.
clinique make up. i am completely brand loyal.
chipotle. (oh what did i do before the 1200 calorie burrito?)
red wine.
hoppy beer.
unhoppy beer.
hell, any beer.
The Doctor (this is new to the list.)
my tortilla maker. (random, i know).
my fuzzy white bathrobe.
blogger. yes, blogger.
and you?
